Information needed
Subject Matter: Paintings are typically created using photos from you, the client. Each painting must have a light source for the painting to incorporate the LED elements such as a sun, moon, stars, headlights, firepit, etc. If you have a photo in mind without a light source, Kait can add it in for an additional fee. You will be sent a final draft for approval before the carving/painting begins.
Dimensions: Smallest size to accompany the battery, lights and remote transmitter on the back of each painting is no smaller than 12” x 12” with a float frame of 1.5” * unless otherwise noted. Large paintings are typically 24” - 36” I can do larger, please include general size wanted in the form below.
Color palette: Keep in mind, Kait typically bumps up the colors to be brighter than photos to enhance the lights to be compatible with the type of subject matter. For example, if you want a light and airy feel, the colors may be more muted vs a dramatic sunset, the colors would be more intense.
Delivery or shipping expectations: Due to the nature of Kait’s work, each painting is heavier than a typical painting. Delivery is ideal. Base rate of $50 for delivery in the Seattle Area. Shipping large pieces can be up to $75-150 depending on size and location. Kait will get a rate before completion.
Pricing: based on the size and complexity of each piece. Kait is taking into account how large the piece is, how much texture is needed to add, and how many lights will be included. Quote is subject to change at time of completion but Kait will be very transparent before finishing your custom piece. For example: Kait’s largest piece on display available for purchase is a 24” x 48” and it’s cost is $2,800.
Deposit
30% non-refundable deposit will go towards each custom painting typically when you send over photos and the layout process has begun. Upon finalizing a size of the piece based on the photos, we will agree upon the final cost and a link to a deposit will be sent. Once the painting is completed, the final invoice will be sent with a link to be paid before shipping/delivery.
Timeline
Each painting takes anywhere between 1-4 weeks depending on the complexity of your request. Kait will be in communication about her availability when you reach out with your deadline. Kait has never missed a deadline and is very transparent about the status of your painting.
Power Source
Each painting comes with a rechargeable battery and remote. The battery typically lasts about 60 hours. It is secured with magnets to stay in place on the ‘shelf’ of the frame. Simply lean the painting forward, pull the wire from the battery to remove to charge. A charging cord is included. If you prefer to have a hardwired plug direct to an outlet on the wall, rather than a battery, that is a simple adjustment upon completion of the painting. Just indicate to Kait on the form below.
