This painting was created in 2011 and is based on the feeling of losing control and feeling overpowered. It is the idea that no matter what, like the bog lily flower that grows in only wet swamps, you can overpower those feelings of anxiety and powerlessness. I had my sister in mind when painting this. She is a fierce and powerful woman despite her obstacles.
